Sanford Area Society of Shaggers (SASS) is a nonprofit organization based in Sanford, North Carolina. It's primary function is to promote activities which are associated with shag music and dance. SASS is a member of the ACSC (Association of Carolina Shag Clubs) and has approximately 160 current members.
SASS is a very people and community oriented club, participating in many local events and fundraisers for local Sanford and Lee County charities as well as a National Sponsor for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

We also invite you to attend our board meetings and meeting socials. Dates for these are shown above. The Sanford American Legion's generousity allows us to hold our board meetings, which begin at 7:00 pm, there. The great folks at the V.F.W. in Sanford allow us to hold our meeting socials there - business meeting at 8:00 pm, followed by social at 9:00 pm.
